Neva Elizabeth Goodpaster, longtime resident of Helotes, TX, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, in San Antonio, TX at the tender age of 89.

The third out of six girls, Neva was born November 20, 1927, in Sauk Centre, MN, daughter of the late Paul and Rose Wilcox. She and husband Gordon Dawson Goodpaster wed March 10, 1946 in Villard, MN and would later welcome three daughters of their own.

Neva loved living life to the fullest; viewed her work with Gold’s Gym and the Silver Sneakers program as truly rewarding, a fixture of the San Antonio Housing Authority Credit Union as President, then Board member, ran 5k’s with a smile, went skydiving at 70, would boot-scoot-and-
boogey anywhere, anytime. Neva’s truest love and life’s purpose was family, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding her in death are husband Gordon, sisters Helen, Rosaline, and Madelon, beloved grandsons Cody and Ryan.

Left to cherish her loving memory; daughters, Linda Allen of Victoria, TX, Sheila Jackson of Salida, CO, and Chere Lutz of Hondo, TX; 9 adoring grandchildren, Shannon, Alana, Robin, Karen, Melissa, Jared, Amanda, Amber, and Brianna; 16 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Maclean, Isabella, Macy, Ayden, Morgan, Memphis, Tristan, Ava, Deckland, Coraline, Kaya, Evelyn, Cody Ray, Ella, and Corbin; sister’s Leora and Pauline; “adopted” daughter’s Janet and Sherrie, granddaughter’s Alex and Shelby; and a host of other dear family and friends.
